David Hoxley PhD
Physicist, Educator & Innovator
Dr. David Hoxley is a physicist, educator, and course coordinator of teaching and learning, dedicated to out-of-the-box thinking in both research and education. Holding a Ph.D. in Physics, his academic work focuses on electronic interactions, particularly charge transfer in functionalised novel semiconductors such as diamond. His groundbreaking research contributes to developing implantable BioFETs, enhancing treatments for immunosuppressive chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants.
Beyond academia, David is passionate about the art of learning itself helping individuals develop the ability to learn how to learn through everyday experiences. He believes education isn’t just about acquiring knowledge but about fostering curiosity, adaptability, and resilience.
A firm advocate for balance in life, David finds inspiration on the water. His love for sailing mirrors his teaching philosophy navigating challenges, adapting to changing conditions, and embracing both precision and creativity. He encourages learners to think critically, solve problems creatively, and apply knowledge in real-world contexts, whether in the classroom, the lab, or at sea.
His commitment to digital technology in education is rooted in the belief that it should be an enhancement, not a limitation a tool that empowers rather than dictates. By blending hands-on experiences, personalised learning pathways, and innovative problem-solving techniques, David helps students and educators break free from traditional constraints and unlock their full potential.
